- The recently revised edition on the Midwest Small Fruit
Pest Management Handbook (B 861) published by Ohio State
University Extension is now available through the ISU Extension
Distribution Center at $10.25 per copy. This edition contains high
quality color images of the various pests and diseases that attack
grapes, strawberries, brambles and blueberries which make it well

A new publication by Drs.
Emily Lehman and Jean Gerrath, Dept. of Biology, University of
Northern Iowa. When planting new vineyards, it is not uncommon
to inadvertently obtain misidentified varieties. The handbook was
developed to help correctly identify grape varieties and verify
misidentified ones. It contains color photos of vegetative and
fruit characteristics at various stages of development to assist
in identifying eleven grape varieties commonly grown in the Midwest
: Bluebell, Concord, Frontenac, LaCrosse, Leon Millot, Marechal
Foch, Niagara, St. Croix, Seyval Blanc, Swenson Red, and Vignoles.
